Born in the High Atlas, Sharing a Passion for Birds and Nature

I was born in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, in Asni, a traditional mountain village and one of the natural gateways to this spectacular region.

Growing up surrounded by rivers, forests, valleys, and traditional villages, I developed a deep connection with the mountains and the nature around me. The High Atlas was not just a landscape for me — it was my home, my childhood, and the place where I learned to appreciate the incredible diversity of life around us.

Asni was once one of the first destinations for travelers exploring the High Atlas Mountains. Today, many visitors pass through quickly, but this region still holds a hidden natural richness that few people discover.

From the Oued Ghighaya, flowing from the slopes of Mount Toubkal — the highest peak in North Africa — to the valleys and mountain habitats surrounding Asni, this area offers a unique environment for wildlife and birdlife.

Over the years, my passion for nature and my experience in tourism inspired me to create Atlas Birdwatching — a way to share the beauty of the High Atlas through the eyes of a local guide.

My goal is to help visitors discover the remarkable birds of these mountains while experiencing the landscapes, culture, and authentic hospitality that make the High Atlas special.

For me, birdwatching is not only about finding birds. It is about exploring a place, understanding its nature, and creating meaningful connections between people and the mountains.

My approach is simple: to share the mountains I know, guide guests to the best birding locations, and create authentic experiences where nature, culture, and local knowledge come together.
